Lanta 5: Eyes of Bitana
Prayers are Answered
It is said to have started in a small temple on the highest peak of the Notelex Face, the mountains east of Kreeom, the last obstacle between Notelex, and Sareem and Mooreen. Soldiers heading to Kreeom would stop and pray at the godless temple; no one knows who it was built for since the statue that once stood behind the altar was taken by thieves. All who stopped and prayed felt the hope that splashes inside you when you touch the River Oceanus, the river that flows through the upper planes. When these men reached Kreeom, they fought with the anger of the dead dwarves that were ambushed. They lived beyond mortal wounds, and some even transcended into saints, a process that was referred to “uplifting”. Sailing had almost been completely unaffected by the drow and so word traveled around the world fast about the gods placing their powers in all temples. Soon, elves were praying at the temples of Moradin and dwarves were praying at the temples of Corellon Larethian. Men who had faith in Blaine were praying at the temples of Morr and Joll and those of the two god faith prayed in Blaine’s. It was an alliance that was more powerful than the one that fought against the demons at the Battle of Aruclam years ago.
For the next year and a half, masses and prayers were held with all faiths welcome. Even in far off places, such as the Pellick Islands, the various religions became one. But the war was not easy by any means. The drows numbers kept rising day by day, until their advancing completely stopped. When that happened, Lantafinsayf used all its might and dragged what was left back down into the unknown.
